I keep hoping one of these weather developers will crack it for X-Plane but not yet. I am starting to suspect that X-Plane 11's Weather SDK Hooks just don't allow for this kind of Beyond Visual Range blending.
its all done behind the scenes and served up in a flawless seamless blending. they slowly roll in from the misty hazy horizon No abrupt change in weather scenery. What they do is analyze the current visible weather around your aircraft then it looks at your max draw distance that you have set in your settings and then it does all of the NEW metar data blending outside your visual range so you NEVER see clouds pop up or change. ActiveSky and SkyForce3D are brilliant at doing this and take it a step further.
I don't know if the X-Plane weather SDK doesn't allow for it or if none of the weather engine programmers know how to get weather to blend together over time but it is one of the most irritating things about X-Plane. The only two weather engines that have ever achieved this is Active Sky 2016 and Rex SkyForce3D and both are FSX/P3D engines. because no one, not UWXP, not 圎nviro, not SkyMaxxPRO can seem to program cloud scene transition blending.
